Yorkshire Wildlife Park Visit

RebekahEsme has been pestering me for a while to take her to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park which is on the outskirts on Doncaster.

We got to the wildlife park at about 1PM on an overcast saturday. The weather did lift though and the rest of the day was fine!

Check-In

When walked through the car park towards the entrance and you could hear the sound of lions roaring. Scary times! We paid our money to go in and started our journey around the park.

Becks had the camera at hand but i did help out in taking some of the pictures. The first animals we met where the meerkats. They where like a show piece for everyone who came in the park to see. They had two big pens which where filled with about 10 meerkats each.

They are quite funny creatures. They run all over the place, up and down logs and then just stop and hop up onto there hind legs and look around. Then they will do it all over again!

Meerkats

After the meerkats we took a walk through through the woods towards the raccoon den. There wasnt much to see in there as the raccoons looked more scared than anything. They where all cowering up on the roof of there den and didnt move a muscle. Quite boring really.

Raccoons

We left there and made our way into another part of the zoo. This as a bit more interesting as there was monkeys and some big birds walking all around you. Animals everywhere. Ha.

The park is a really nice park to visit. Its really well layed out, with big pens for the animals. There is also plenty of seating and viewing areas for adults and children to get a good look at the animals. A petting zoo is situated near the main entrance for children and adults to get close to some of the tame animals and have a nice pet. There is also a huge play park located near the woods with mega jungle jims and climbing frames to keep the children entertained and seating all around for the adults to keep an eye on there youngsters whilst taking a break.

They have one of the biggest areas around for adopted lions. They have 3 different prides located around one big pen and loads of information signs and stories about the lions for you to read.

ROARrrr

The park is a must for anyone who likes animals and an adventure. (Its even better if you get some nice weather 😀)
