I was as excited as a fat kid in a sweet shop when I got my Lego Technic Tow Truck.
As a kid I had loads of Lego. I used to build anything. I think I was about 9/10 when I got my first ever Lego technic set. I got a green dump truck. I was only young so don’t think I could build it that well. Now I look back to it was over 1500 pieces!
So, after reading a thread on a forum I go on where a lad got a Tower Bridge Lego set. This went on to loads of people going out and buying some amazing Lego models. I shopped around for a good few hours before I came to the decision that I wanted the Crane Truck (8258).
This kit is quite hard to get and it is really expensive. I looked on the likes of Gumtree and eBay but didn’t found anything close to my budget but I really wanted to build a Lego set. So to scratch my Lego itch, I bought the tow truck!
So friday night me and Becks had no plans. Lego time!
Opening the box carefully I took the plastic bags out the box and poured out the contents into there separate piles. 1,200 pieces of Lego sat in front of me waiting to be assembled.
I followed the books step by step taking photos every now and then until the full masterpiece was constructed.
Here are some pictures of the build.
The final thing was amazing. I had so much fun building it, the T-bar on the back works brilliantly as well as the winch. The 2 way diff at the back powers the pistons in the engine. There is a gear selector in the cab to change from T-bar to winch.
The doors open up and the seats recline. The bonnet opens up to show the working engine.
Anyways, ill let the pictures speak for themselves. Enjoy!
